Island Peak, EBC Trek and Everest Base Camp Marathon 2013

Something to look forward to for the year 2013, Nepal Himalayan trekking and high altitude running. Could be the beginning of my high altitude training, in  preparation  for a future high altitude climb. A wish.

This is a plan I did not push of doing this year, I hope and wish I can do it next year.  Three major activities, one trip. An introduction to a technical climb, trek to Everest Base Camp, trail running on the high altitude (full marathon). I wish to do all together in one trip, giving me the chance to be familiar with technical ice climbing and start to hone my skills and learn the techniques while enjoying the view of Nepal Himalayas by trekking to base camp (and have the chance to sleep at Everest Base Camp, such a dream come true) then do a full marathon on the way back down to Namche Bazaar. That is the plan, I hope I can do it. (Note: The first two activities can be done on a separate package with a separate rate, Everest Basecamp Marathon needs to be with a trek to basecamp for at least 14 days to acclimatize, that is the only way to do the marathon.)

 Everest Base Camp Marathon

I am always at home with the mountains,  the reason I really want to visit the Himalays, I am also into running which I want to experience running on the high altitude. But aside from those that I mentioned,  I also want to see and witness the great culture and meet  great people of this great place.

Tibetan Prayer Flags of rectangular cloth panels, which is often found strung along mountain ridges and peaks high in the Himalayas to bless the surrounding countryside. The flags five colors symbolizes blue for sky, green for air, red for fire, white for water and yellow for earth.

Itinerary of Everest Base Camp Trek only. (Note: Rates may change on the next climbing season) If one intends to join the Marathon after the trek, it is plus USD999.00.

Possible cheaper air fare to Kathmandu, Nepal via Air Asia. I hope this will still be available by May 2013. Cheaper Fare to Nepal via Air Asia

  2. Looks like you had a great trip to climb Island Peak. How about trying to climb Mera Peak next or maybe visit Tanzania to climb Kilimanjaro.

  3. Clear blue skies and fantastic vistas every day in late October 2012. My wife and I trekked with Independent trekking guide, Mr Sanjib. We had one Guide Mr. Sanjib and one Porter and trekked and talked a took photos and rested when we wanted to. I was 51 at the time and found the trek to be very doable. There were trekkers much older than me that accomplished it as well. In the teahouse dining rooms each evening, we enjoyed the Sanjib of travelers from the most diverse nationalities I have ever encountered in such a short time frame. There seemed to be an almost equal number of females as males. The menus are surprisingly full given that almost all of the food must be carried in. Every day brings rewarding scenery and passage through isolated villages. After Dingbhoche, the villages are there only to service the trekkers and the altitudes are probably to high to support farming. All in all a wonderful fulfilling experience. With sanjib , personal and experienced service. He started as a porter, worked up to being a guide in company and is now he is independent trekking guide Email-:sanjib-adhikari@hotmail.com

  4. Welcome to island peak climbing Nepal Himalaya. It is the best option to give mount. Everest base camp as well as other Everest region trekking in Nepal. If you have 17 days, you finished both island peak and Everest base camp.
